Scales and arpeggios

Trinity Grade 3 introduces contrary motion (hands together) on selected scales and adds a chromatic component. Tempo nudges up; legato remains the default touch.

What this grade asks for

    Scales (hands separately, two octaves)

    Major and minor keys to two sharps and two flats.

  • Section

    Contrary motion

    Hands together, two octaves, in nominated major keys.

  • Section

    Chromatic scale

    Hands separately, one or two octaves.

  • Section

    Arpeggios

    Hands separately, two octaves.
